770. Provenance: Timuri (?) Baluch tribes, Western Afghanistan

Size: 125 x 102 cm

Age: Circa 1880

Condition: Low pile, corrosion of the dark (natural dye iron oxide) dye, common in Baluch rugs of this age.

Notes: A lovely prayer rug with all natural dyes, most notably the splendid shades of indigo (brought over from India to Afghanistan, and therefore used sparingly). Very pretty tribal design with stylized flower bouquets in the field.
