42. Provenance: Taimuri Tribe, Western Afghanistan.

Age: Circa 1870.

Size: 150cm x 92cm

Condition: Near pristine original condition.

Notes: Lovely shiny karakul wool with a high pile. An unusually generous use of indigo, imported from India and therefore very expensive for tribal Afghans, and an indication of the esteem in which they held this rug.
