868. Provenance: Qashqa'i Confederacy of tribes (?), or 'Shiraz', Fars Province, southern Persia
Size: 142 x 200 cm
Age: circa 1930
Condition: Good with high pile.
Notes: The design and the colours do bear some similarity to neighbouring Bakhtiari tribal pieces, but the weave and foundation colouring indicate Qashqa'i (or possibly a broader 'Shirazi') origin. Three attractive and densely filled medallions in indigo blue, sitting prettily in a salmon/pale orange ground.
