719. Provenance: Ersarari, Turkoman, nothern Afghanistan

Size: 317 x 262 cm

Age: Circa 1940

Condition: Very good. Minor foldwear, and doesn't sit entirely flat (a common issue with many all-wool tribal rugs).

Notes:  I've said it before and I'll say it again - the 'devil is in the detail' with these filpai (elephant foot) carpets. Some have pillar-box-red harsh dyes, and course, dry wool. This one has sheen and beautiful soft wool, warm madder-rich colouring.
