460. Provenance: Azer baijan, Southern Caucasus

Size:  395 x 108 cm 

Age: Circa 1890

Condition: One patch of heavier wear near the centre. Otherwise good for age.

Notes: A soothing repeat of the ancietn 'boteh' (precursor to the Paisley design). A rich indigo field framed by well-drawn, varied and nicely coloured borders, both major and minor.
