272. A distinguished Kurdish or Caucasian Runner

Antique Caucasian or Kurdish Runner

272. Provenance: Caucasian or Kurdish, The Caucasus or Northwestern Persia

Age: Circa 1900

Size: 300 x 104 cm

Condition: There is some wear in the field and minor losses to the ends.

Notes: Caucasian rugs are famed for their pure, tribal clear design. These designs also spread just across the borders to Kurdish areas of Persia, so exact origins of this rug are difficult to acertain. Either way, this is a fine runner in soft hand-spun wool and natural dyes.
