892. Provenance: Ersari tribe, Turkoman group of tribes, northern Afghanistan

Size: 380 x 310 cm

Age: Circa 1950

Condition: Pretty good, with just some minor 'foldwear'. Couple of small stains (that may come out with a clean).

Notes: A hansome Ersari filpai ('elephant foot') rug, with rich burgundy colouring. The devil is in the details with these Afghan main rugs, and this one ticks the right boxes - lustrous, oily, highland wool and good colour & weave.
