375. Provenance: Baluch or 'Baluch-type' tribes, Western Afghanistan

Age: Circa 1920

Size: 200 x 100 cm

Condition: Good with some minor corrosion of the dark browns - a common, but not critical situation with these Baluchis using the natural iron oxide dye.

Notes: A somewhat sombre rug, as was quite typical of many Afghan Baluchis - it was very hard for many of these mountain herders to find a range of dyestuffs. Nonetheless, this is very authentically tribal and will suit a room where the rug isn't required to dominate.
