Antique Yomut Turkoman Chuval (storage bag)

884. Provenance: Yomut tribe, Turkoman family of tribes, Turkmenistan (possibly NE Persia), Central Asia

Size: 110 x 72 cm

Age: circa 1900

Condition: Very good for age, and it still has its (seemingly original) kilim back.

Notes: Sixteen Yomut chuval guls with minor Chemche guls in between. A particularly attractive elem (the bottom decorative panel) with diamond motifs and a beautiful shade of pale indigo. Nice and typical brown, walnut (?) skin-died main field.
