Age: Circa 1980

Size: 270 x80 cm

Condition: Excellent.

Notes: The Mushwani are a Pashtun tribe, and unique amongst them in that they weave rugs. They also weave in a unique mix of pile and soumak, giving a sculptured, texture-rich effect. Such Afghan runners are extremely pleasing to the eye, and are easy on the wallet. Rich burgundy reds, together with indigo blue and undyed dark sheep wool, with highlights in light undyed wool.
