56. Provenance: Qashqa'i (Lori?), Fars Province, Southern Persia

Age: Circa 1940

Size: 295 x 155cm

Condition: Generally good. Slightly low pile. One tiny spot of low pile at side.

Design: Tribal motifs with animals, birds and heraldic symbols, but cotton foundation and floral borders suggest a village (rather than nomadic) production.

Colour: Soft natural dyes.

Materials: Hand-spun wool on cotton foundation.
