536. Provenance: Ushak, West central Anatolia, Turkey

Size: 340 x 240 cm

Age: Circa 1920

Condition: Good for age. Very minor side cord damage, easy to repair.

Notes: Dramatically simple in design and drawing. These Ushaks were very popular in Victorian Britain and elsewhere (one can also be seen on the study floor of the latest Sherlock Holmes series!). Strong, rich red field, with details in indigo and a lovely speckled green.
