Age: Circa 1920

Condition: Good.

Notes:  Soft, harmonious colouring, and classic Sarab design. These are some of the toughest carpets around - exceedingly well made. The camel colour ground is one of the principal charactristics of Sarab, and the 'sergeant's stripes' design always uses this shade. The red here is a warm natural madder. More modern pieces were made with a rather harsh chemical red.
