576. Provenance: Chondzoresk, Karabagh, The Caucasus

Size: 280 x 142 cm

Age: Circa 1900

Condition: Some corrosion of the dark brown. Some losses (unsecured) to ends and some damage to side selvedges. Easily repairable, either by myself (at cost), or by buyer.

Notes: A bright, cheerful 'cloud-band' Karabagh, which refers to the disitinctive worm-like motif in the medallions. Wonderful strong reds, orange and turquoise-blue. Wonderful tribal motifs including some almost animal-like botehs (the precursors to the Paisley teardrops, and goats. A tribal gem.
