428. Provenance: Tabriz, Northwestern Persia

Size: 273 x 160 cm

Age: Circa 1910

Condition: Overall low pile, though it would have always been clipped close, and areas of minor wear.

Notes:  The range of soft natural colours in this dignified, calming carpet is wonderful. The low pile does hint at its age, but it in no way detracts from its charm, indeed it makes the well-drawn design even sharper. This Tabriz will make you think of Spring days in the temperate sun!
