414. Provenance: Joshagan or Meimeh villages, Northwestern Persia

Size: 306 x 214 cm

Age: Circa 1930

Condition: Mostly good. Some patches of lower pile.

Notes: This design is as old as the day is long, but is specific to these two Persian villages. This one has particularly vibrant natural colours, especially the very warm fire-red main field (the fields are more often in indigo blue). Village weaving and design at its very best.
