53. Provenance: Mashad (or possibly Tabriz), Persia.

Size: 388 x 300cm

Age: Circa 1950

Condition: Excellent. One or two tiny professional re-weaves.

Design: All-over floral with elaborate medallion.

Colour: A strong indigo ground with lovely natural arbrush (change in shading), with harmonious browns and bieges (undyed wool). Highlights in red and pale blue. Materials: Wool pile on white cotton warps and blue cotton wefts.
