397. Provenance: Yomut tribes, Turkoman, Central Asia

Size: 114 x 72 cm

Age: Circa 1880

Condition: Generally very good for its age, but there is one large area in the centre that has been patched using a piece from another antique rug. It is missing it's original plainweave bag (it would have been used for storage).

Notes: A classical Yomut. Simple and dignified, using only pure vegetable dyes. Soft, glossy, handspun wool. Such pieces are highly sought after in the collector market.
